Nothing is Impossible
Alice R. Pope, MSN, RN, CNL
Hello. I am a certified Clinical Nurse Leader currently working as a Nurse Residency educator. Teaching nursing students in the classroom and at the bedside is a passion of mine. However, patient care and patient advocacy are my top passions in nursing.
As a mother of 6 children, and a grandmother of 3, I truly believe that "Nothing is Impossible".
I am a 1996 honors graduate of John L. Lefore Magnet High School. My first love was criminal justice, and that became my first major. At age 18, I became pregnant with my first child. I finished an internship with Judge Lionel Layden in Mobile, Al, and delivered shortly thereafter. As a single mother of a son, I wanted a better life for him than the one I could provide at the time and decided to attend Medical Assistant school. This is what started my journey into nursing.
With encouragement from my father and the physician I worked for, Dr. Adolph Isom, I applied to Bishop State Community College (BSCC) and began Nursing School. I graduated from BSCC in December of 2006 while working at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. Since that time, I birth one boy and two sets of twins (3 girls and 1 boy), and I obtained my master's in nursing from Spring Hill College in May 2011 while working nights and keeping them at home with me during the day.
In December 2019, I acquired my 3 grandchildren who were 6 months, 2 years, and 3 years old. In December 2020, My Oldest son, their father, died of Renal Medullary Carcinoma at the age of 23. I was awarded custody of them in April 2021, bringing my family total to 10, including my sweet husband, Adrian.
I am currently on my journey to obtain my Doctor of Nursing Practice and Family Nurse Practitioner Certification.
